Hi, I’m Maggie Talbot, the founder and driving force behind Interiors by MT Design.
For over 26 years, my career has been deeply rooted in the kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom industry, working with leading international and UK manufacturing companies. This extensive experience provides a solid foundation for the innovative and quality-driven solutions I offer.
Five years ago, following redundancy, I decided to pursue my long-held dream of establishing my own kitchen design business.
What began as a solo venture has organically evolved into a multifaceted service, supporting both homeowners in creating their dream spaces and trade professionals in streamlining their projects.
My Journey and The evolution of Interiors by MT Design
Unifying My Passion for Homeowners and Trade: My Story
My journey in the kitchen industry began with a focus on bringing dream renovations to homeowners through Interiors by MT Design. However, alongside this, a parallel path emerged organically. Recognising a need within the trade, I separately began offering my design and CAD expertise to kitchen retailers, cabinet suppliers, electricians, and property developers.
An early opportunity arose when an ex-manager connected me to a friend of his, who was establishing a retail kitchen showroom and who needed CAD support. Simultaneously, long-standing relationships with kitchen cabinet suppliers led to requests for design services for their clients. These collaborations, alongside providing administrative support and site surveys for other trade professionals, grew steadily over the past five years, largely through word-of-mouth.
Now, the time is right to bring these two sides of my passion together under one cohesive banner: Interiors by MT Design. This unification streamlines my business, simplifies my branding and marketing, and allows for a more cohesive approach in serving both homeowners and trade professionals with the same dedication and expertise. It’s about building bridges and offering a comprehensive suite of services, all driven by the same love for great design and efficient processes.

A New Chapter: Focusing on Design, Advice & Connection
The decision to shift my primary homeowner focus towards design and advisory services, alongside the online home accessories shop, is a deliberate one.
While I cherish the creative aspects of full renovations, the time-consuming and often stressful nature of supply and installation no longer aligns with my personal goals, including a desire for greater travel and exploring other creative pursuits.
Moreover, the traditional model of unpaid design work for kitchen retailers can be unsustainable. By focusing on paid design and advisory services, I can provide dedicated expertise and value from the outset.
My vision for Interiors by MT Design is to be your go-to partner for insightful design advice, innovative solutions, and a curated collection of beautiful home accessories. Whether you’re a homeowner seeking guidance to create your perfect space or a trade professional needing reliable design and administrative support.
